Example: There was this exchange that occurred on MSNBC’s Morning Joe during the week of the Gates Crowley Obama affair that was dominating the news. Joe Scarborough 
the host of Morning Joe said that President Obama was wrong in criticizing the police for arresting Professor Gates. Lawrence O’Donnell who was a guest on the show, said President Obama was not wrong. Joe Scarborough, right away pointed out that Colin Powell had said that there was no racist misconduct because there were black cops present. Lawrence immediately responded knowledgably, saying Colin Powell didn’t know what he was talking about. This exchange is in the Morning Joe 
MSNBC archives. Plus we would think both Joe Scarborough and Lawrence O’Donnell remember that exchange. Unfotunately, this was before Lawrence O’Donnell had his own MSNBC show, “THE LAST WORD”.
Interestingly, Joe Scarborough had a similar conversation a few years later with Angela Mitchell in reference to another racial controversy where, he and Angela agreed that Obama in this new race case they were discussing, showed Obama had not learned his lesson from the Gates Crowley affair. Another look back in the MSNBC archives to be researched and replayed. Actually, it looks like Joe Scarorough didn’t learn his lesson O’Donnell tried to teach him.
There was a similar exchange that we captured in “The Big Cover-Up” video on CNN, between 
Wolf Blitzer and Bill Maher, where we see Wolf Blitzer pointing out to Bill Maher that some of Sgt. Crowley’s black colleagues, in that CNN staged “angry cops” 
group session, “back him up saying he did the right thing.” To which Bill Maher responds “yes, because they’re policemen and they stick together.” Here we have a seasoned news host, Wolf Blitzer showing no awareness of the unwritten “police code of silence.” Even worse, Wolf cherry picked the CNN televised revelation that was two his liking and against the black President and conveiently ignored CNN Anderson Cooper’s televised misconduct of Sgt. Crowley.
To cite black cops standing up for their fellow white cop as 
proof that no racist misconduct occurred by the officer in question as Wolf Blitzer is shown in “The Big Cover-Up” video” our reference Bible. This slective recall since CNN had also televised Anderson Cooper’s initial disclosure of Crowley’s false police report, which Wolf Blitzerchose to ignore.
Joe Scarborough may be surprised to learn that his buying into the “integration delusion” phenomenon shows little race and police awareness, as he did in citing Colin 
Powel’s naive assertion on Larry King’s show that the presence of black police means no racist offense occurred. This is one of those, com’on man even you should know like Bill Mahr explained to Wolf, with integrated cops, the color isn’t black or white it’s “the blue wall” “they stick together.” As for Colin Powel, he set the standard for integrity by publicly appoligizing for making a claim that he later learned he was in error. No doubdt had he seen “The Big Cover-Up” video,” he would have remained true to himself.

As this one political commentator and author acknowledged to me, that there is this symbiotic relationship between rhe press and the police wherein the news media extends deference to police and in turn the news media gains access to inside information. This was after I contacted him and shared my thoughts on how those who had profited from their 
relationship with President Obama, from writing a couple of best sellers on the President, having gained early and exclusive access with his cooperation. My point was, Obama did not receive any show of loyalty or appreciation from these beneficiaries in the form of them speaking up when seeing the news media driven unjustified attack that unfolded against him ( President Obama) in the Gates Crowley affair.
Over and over we see this after-the-fact-disloyalty or ingratitude towards President Obama, being played out by those he extended some consideration or accomodation. Off the bat, Lynn Sweat gets honorable mention, who got the whole ball game rolling with her timely question 
on the arrest of Professor Gates by Sgt. Crowley, which opened up the press conference in the Big Cover-Up” video.” Obama gave his homegirl, Lynn Sweet, the Washington bureau chief of the Chicago Sun Times, Lynn Sweet, the first question at his first major Press conference.
It’s hard to imagine that Lynn Sweet didn’t subsequently stay on top of this news story on her homeboy as we did. Yet, she didn’t report on the racist injustice that unfolded against President Obama and by extension black Americans. These are the kind of follow up stories that reveal the depth of this racist mainstream news media practices that we are working to address.
SHOWING HOW THE MAINSTREAM NEWS MEDIA RACIST PRACTICES ARE SYSTEMIC
It’s instructive to be able to show how individual journalists, reporters, commentators, and even news host in and around the news media have accommodated this obvious case of illegal and racist police misconduct in “The Big Cover-Up” video. Initially Anderson Cooper and Greta Van Susteren and their news crews televised Sgt. Crowley’s racist police misconduct, that included Crowley lying and filing a false police report.
There are a lot of black and white American people that were fooled by watching President Obama being vilified by that CNN produced news segment hosted by Don Lemon showing black and white fellow police officers of Sgt Crowley angry at President Obama for criticizing what proved to be the police illegal arrest of Prof. Gates. There were those folks out there watching television that apparently chose not to see what they saw.
Obviously, Anderson Cooper and Greta Van Susteren and their CNN and Fox News producers and news crews, are all in the group of those in the mainstream news media that remained silent while 
watching the news media driven racist malpractice of the news unfold. They saw that CNN produced angry police at President Obama news segment and they know they did no normal follow-up on their initial hot breaking news story of police misconduct. These two news groups can’t be included in the group of Americans that were deceived by the integrated mainstream news media. These guys, with their knowledge having initially exposed the police false police report, with their silence remained complicit in the cover-up.
We checked back on that CNN produced, staged, black and white cops angry at 
President Obama CNN news segment, hosted by Don Lemon. It’s interesting, who appears to have been a key player behind the scenes in charge in that CNN produced black and white cops angry at the black President segment that resulted in that collective news media amnesia of Anderson Cooper and Greta van Susteren and their respective news crews that initially exposed Sgt. Crowley lying and filing a false police report.
According to her LinkedIn profile which has since been updated. It was 
none other than Rebecca Kutler on the right, who recently became President of MSNBC replacing Rashida Jones on the left. Kutler fired Joy Reid her first day on her new MSNBC job. There’s a back story there that can use more research since Don Lemon and Steve Holmes are both no longer with CNN. We’ll see if we can get some behind the scenes “come to Jesus” inside stuff from these black guys on this story.
MYTH’S FLOURISH WHILE REALITY AIN’T GOING AWAY
When it comes to race and social justice, there is reality and then there are myths and misperceptions. It took the illegal racist arrest by Sgt. Crowley of Professor Gates, and the first black President’s perfectly legitimate criticism of the arrest that was proven to be illegal, to expose this deep seated integrated mainstream news media continuing their pre-integration racist editorial practice, which in this case, showed the news media knowingly covered up the illegal racist police misconduct of Sgt. Crowley and his superiors in the police cover-up.
CAUGHT WITH THEIR HANDS IN THE RACIST COOKIE JAR
Seeing all these news people having no problem watching President Obama being falsely pilloried by the mainstream news media, knowing that they had televised Sgt. Crowley

They saw the whole mainstream news media fairytale brazenly supporting Sargent Crowley strutting into the Whitehouse assisting Professor Gates as an aggrieved maligned American hero, who they had televised having lied and filed a false police report with his illegal arrest of Prof. Gates. Nevertheless, for what ever reason these news people didn’t speak up, choosing to go along , allowing the angry police against the black President narrative to carry the day, and fortunately we got it all in “the Big Cover-Up” video.

There are reciepts all around in front and behind the news media cameras “The Big Cover-Up” video shows Anderson Cooper, at the top of the CNN and Fox News list of news people in front of the cameras, that includes , Don Lemon, and T.J. Holmes at CNN. Greta Van Susteren tops the Fox News list after her initial, excellent on sight, coverage and reporting, at Prof. Gates house, with the witness, Lucia Whalen’s attorney, totally exposing Sgt. Crowley’s false police report. Nor can those studio panel participants in the on air discssions avoiding Crowley’s misconduct be exonerated.
Nevertheless, this article is focusing on the widespread mentality of individuals in and around the news media who wittingly or unwittingly participated in the little known but continued pre-integration news media racist editorial malpractice of deferring to the police in race and police encounters.
WATCHING THE MOST LIBERAL AMONGST US ACCOMODATE THE PROBLEM
Metaphorically, we’re watching news people step over a corpse and then claiming they saw nothing. Speaking of looking back, that’s the most important untold story, which is how journalist, reporters, writers, and even Presidential historians handled seeing the news media sequence of televised news stories as we have documented in “The Big Cover-Up” video and sat through that news media driven racist travesty and played dumb even as President Obama was being screwed. The most revealing fact is the way those in the integrated mainstream news media have continued in their systemic pre-integration racist editorial practice of burying the Sgt. Recently, in the last two years, we watched David Ignatius, Washington Post Associate editor and columnist, on “Morning Joe,” paying public tribute to “his friend,” African American Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates. It immediately raised the question in our mind, what did Ignatius do or not do during that infamous Gates, Crowley-
Obama affair, when that whole injustice played out on naional television when “his Friend” Professor Gates was arrested by Sgt. Crowley.
David Ignatius is also a spy novelist, which suggest it being unlikely he didn’t recognize the blatant racist injustice and news media editorial bias involving the black President and his “friend Professor Gates.” It conjures up a morbid analogous situation where the forces in play are so 
powerful, that a friend dare not speak up while seeing his black pal is being subjected to mob action. This must be like being a white person in the crowd and silently watching their black friend being lynched but dare not speak up.at the time.

RACISM TRANING DAY
Here’s one more interesting variation on display of a major mainstream news 
media commentator going along with a revealed news media racist practice in the “Handle The Truth” video (below), Chris Hayes was incredulous to learn that the Chicago mainstream news organizations refused to cover the Homan Square black sites that were engaged in secret torture and disapearing black prisoners.
The point is that after Chris Hayes learned that the Chicago mainstream news media engaged in ten years of turning a blind eye on the Chicago Police Department’s Homan Square secret detention and interrogation center exposed 
by The Guardian, a British news outlet. Chris’ subsequent reaction tells the mainstream news media story of how those in the mainstream news media learn how the real game is played. Chris Hayes did not follow up on his discovery of the mainstream news media racist editorial malpractice with more reporting on the story. The follow up on the shocking revelation was, as they say, crikets. There news story died the natural death of Chris learnig how the game is played. No more Homan Square coverage by Hayes to this day.
FINALLY A SPECIAL 60 MINUTES MENTION
Even as there is this concern being widely expressed for the desruction of sixty minutes by the new owner of CBS, which I too regret to see. But I’ can’t overlook my disapointment I experienced at the time of the Gates Crowley President Obama affair. Nevertheless, the facts are the facts. We’retalking about the Sunday following the Professor Gates arrest by Sgt. Crowley. The story was tailor made for Sixty Minutes but they chose not to cover it.
